What is wrong with yahoo music launchcast? I have down loaded yahoo messenger 8 version.I have been listening music with music launchcast. But now the add plug in button is not functioning. Featured plug ins are not appearing on the screen. My plug ins are not appearing on the screen. I am not able to listen to the free music. What can be the reasons. Yahoo! Music LaunchCast - No sound on my radio station? I cannot hear my LaunchCast radio station. I am not blocking cookies or pop-ups. The player appears to be functioning properly but there is no sound. I have checked the usual - I have nothing muted, the speakers are on etc. If I select videos in Yahoo! music I'm getting sound from those ok - just nothing from LaunchCast. Any ideas? Additional note: After having LaunchCast run in the background for a while - I can hear the adverts, they play fine. The music does not. Yes I have stuff in my Radio Station. Emptied Internet Explorer cache. Have Windows Media Player 11 and IE 7. Can play MP3 music with Winamp too. Tried volume control on bottom of launchcast plugin. Plugin shows song name and counts time, ad counts time too, just don't hear ANYTHING!! from Launchcast. OMG this is driving me nuts! Any ideas?? oh, and also deleted all cookies from Internet Explorer I also just tried reinstalling Windows Media Player 11, Launchcast still produces no sound whatsoever!! Well I rolled back Windows Media Player to version 9, installed version 10 several times, sound worked intermittently in Launchcast and Napster during the process. Then finally I realized that the problem was my Kaspersky Anti-Virus. I had set it to scan network traffic on all ports, and for some reason the internet radio was not passing through it right. So I had to add Napster and Yahoo Messenger to my trusted zone in Kaspersky so it wouldn't scan their traffic, and wala! works correctly now! So if you have the same problem, you might wanna try disabling your antivirus or your firewall temporarily and seeing if the internet radio works without them. Also, in the meantime, I started listening to Shoutcast with Winamp. They actually have a lot of smaller independent stations available, and more variety than Launchcast does. The problem is, though, you cannot skip songs with Shoutcast. See http://www.shoutcast.com for details. I was frustrated with not being able to skip songs on Shoutcast. I knew from past research that Napster has the largest American music collection anywhere on the web, including a lot of independent labels that other music sites don't have, but I hadn't paid attention to the fact that they also offer skippable internet radio to their subscribers. Anyway I signed up and supposedly they will charge me about $10 a month after the 7 day free trial (I don't use a portable music player so I don't need Napster To Go which is $15). Anyway it's pretty cheap and they got all the music under the sun, so I'm pretty happy with my choice, now that I figured out how to make the antivirus work with it.

Why doesn't Yahoo! Music Launchcast have a mini-player like the old Musicmatch Jukebox? I liked the mini player on my desktop, it had more information on it about the songs than Launchcast Radio does. Yahoo Music/Launchcast? So, we rate songs, artists and albums we like. Yes, I know it's free, but there are all those adds for trying the pay version. Why, then, do they keep playing songs that are "Recommended by Yahoo Music" when I have rated those genres as "Never Play Again"? I mean if you're trying to get me to try a product, don't show me examples of it I don't like. I thought the whole rating system helped it recommend and thus play songs I actually want to hear. If the sales pitch demo is that frequently wrong, how bad will the pay-for product be? How does that marketing technique even make sense? oops should read "all those ads..."
