Do you have any Christmas music horror stories? My mother used to have musical Christmas lights that she left on from the time she got up till she went to bed all December. None of us were allowed to play any other music because it interfered with her noel enjoyment. I now despise Christmas music (unless it's the Trans-Siberian Orchestra). How about you? PS: It seems like I can't escape from it, even my Muslim co-workers are cranking up Christmas music! WTH!?
"Music appreciation" gone astray: what are your worst horror stories? Aka, has a person or incident ever come close to ruining classical music for you? If that's possible haha. Sorry if this is a little long, but it's really funny. I go to a liberal arts college, a supposedly very good school (but this made me wonder!) We have only five teachers in our music department, we're more of a science school. Two are exceptional (Yale Conservatory and Julliard for eight years, tons of competitions won, both funny and *modest,* you get the idea). One is new. The two others, though... Where to begin? They have medioocre prizes all over their walls, very full of themselves in general. Both went to Carnegie Mellon, which isn't a bad school by any means!, but why would you brag about Carnegie Mellon when you have a Julliard alum and a Yale alum in your midst? They are married, both in their 50's and a little pudgy. He literally walks like he has a stick in his you-know-what. I mean, literally. He writes all these pompous editorials to our mediocre local newspaper and brags about himself instead of teaching, but he still knows a lot. She is awful- she missed *six* classes out of about 28, half of them with no explanation. She wears clunky shoes and dowdy black dresses, and always patronizes us: "I believe in treating you like adults..." At the same time, she occasionally tries to act "hip" by pretending she likes some ten-year-old pop song. So that's the context. Well one day, when we were listening to Girl with the Flaxen Hair in music history class, her eyes glossed over; she then looked at us with that I'm-just-like-you look and said: "I just love Debussy... he's such great make-out music, don't you think?... Sometimes when Lowell and I are on the couch, and this is playing, we well, you know..." (girly laugh and fluttering eyelashes) (look of trauma) I'm sorry, but I still can't take this piece seriously! I laugh every time. Another time she talked about having an "orgy"- thank God I can't remember the composer associated with that one! I'd never have recovered. After she missed all those classes they removed her from music history and put her in- you guessed it- music appreciation. What are your worst stories? No, it doesn't have to be from a class, sorry! Just anyone who almost "ruined" music for you, or even just a particular composer Haha rdenig- that reminds me of a scene from the Dead Poets' Society. In one part Robin Williams' forward-thinking character tells them to rip out the introduction to poetry in their books because it is terrible (aka stilted and pretentious). When he is removed for unjust reasons and a stuffy teacher comes in to replace him, he wants them to read the "excellent" introduction and none of them have it. It's a funny scene... I've loved almost every radio commentator I've ever heard- they're always knowledgeable but still down-to-earth. I'm glad they rescued Bartok for you!
whats some good music, any music, that inspires you to write a horror story? Or what inspires you otherwise or what do you think could help to inspire me?
Music to set the mood. . . for a horror story? I'm trying to write a screenplay and need a little inspiration. I want to listen to some music to, I guess incite my imagination. I would go to allmusic.com but my school's computer won't log on there. I need to hear something intense and claustrophobic. To put it another way the story I'm trying to tell is very sexual and intense ---kind of suffocating in a way. It's a very phobic and kind of disturbing horror story. I just want to find some music that I can listen to fit what I'm writing. Picture the song 'Change' by Deftones set to a horror film
Do you know of a website that you can download scarey music for free? I am doing a horror story for a class project. I have a track I purchased on CD, but it's a dramatic track which I will use later in the story. I need some music that warns the listeners that danger is ahead. Something is about to happen and I need some warning music for my story. Thanks
Apartment Horror Stories Please!? Most people in Chicago rent and I’d like to get some apartment horror stories. I have many… From the hillbilly family who thought it was okay to hang their kid’s swimming pool on my window air conditioner to a drunk old lady who used to take out her trash in the subzero weather with no clothes on. My worst is: My wife & I have a newborn baby and we move into a nice quiet four unit building. Nobody is lives below us for a few months until some single guy moves in. At first he’s pretty quiet sans normal noise, but all of the sudden every day at 11am his radio is on unbelievably loud and it would wake our newborn up from his nap which really sucked. I talked to the landlord about it & he comes back to talk to me and actually says that the guy is getting ready for work & blasting his stereo from his bedroom so that he can hear it while he’s in the shower completely across the apartment! The landlord said the guy agreed to not do it again, but the next day it happens again so I go talk to him and he says he didn’t get a chance to go buy a radio for his bathroom yet. Inevitably the landlord has to kick the guy out of his building (the noise was also bothering the lady across the hall from him) and warns us that the guys is probably going to make lots of noise but he can’t throw him out & if it is too disruptive to call the cops. The last night the guy is allowed in the building is a Friday and my wife & I happen to have a wedding to go to. When we get home after picking up the baby around 2am it’s clear the guy has decided to make our life hell the last night he’s there… We can hear the music outside & when we get upstairs our floor is literally shaking so we just called the cops and explained the situation (and that we have our baby) & they show up a few minutes later. When they knock on our door the guy thinks it’s me and yells “NOBODYS HOME” and the cops knock again and announce “Chicago police department” and the music goes down & he opens the door. I hear the cops yell at him & leave then I hear the guy scream “FFFFFUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCKKKK” and that was the last I heard of him. Prologue: We moved into a house in the city & I have never been so happy to not have to share a wall with anybody or a yard with somebody’s dog. These stories are always good, the worst of course gets best answer.
Can anyone recommend a site to download music from that is safe to use? I like to download music and movies but you hear so many horror stories about ending up with viruses and or spyware from using some of these websites that it makes me a little nervous. I would prefer a site that doesn't charge you for downloading but I wouldn't mind paying a small fee for using their site as long as I know that it is safe to do so and legal. So if anyone can make a recommendation based on their own knowledge or you have friends that use a particular site I would appreciate the information. Thank-you.
iPod users, if I download the newest version of iTunes will it mess with the music I got off Limewire? I have a bit of music off Limewire that I don't want to give up, and I'm not sure how the latest version of iTune will interact with the Limewire music I have on my iPod. I've heard horror stories that the newest iTune's will destroy your mp3 or worse yet, charge you for them! Anyone know?
Can you help me find a good short horror story? I need it for a project in my music class. It needs to be really descriptive so I can use music to match up with the words.
What music should i listen to while writing? I'm writing a kind of horror/romancey/depressing story about vampires and stuff. What kind of music do you reccommend?
Would make this make a good horror story? Okay, a girl walks into an elevator and then this creepy elevator music starts playing. she think to herself "oh, this is kind of creepy" then as the elevator starts to move, the music gets louder. then she thinks "okay, this is way too creepy" but then the elevator gets stuck and the music gets louder. she tries pressing the help button over and over but nothing is working. so she starts to cry and the music keeps getting louder. then she dies of fright. by the time the workers fix that elevator, they find her corpse just laying there with wide eyes and the music playing as loud as ever. so what do you think of this?
Creepy children's music by a famous composer? Whats good creepy children's music, or music you'd hear in a horror story by a famous composer? Like Bach or Beethoven?
have any of you personally been sued or fined for downloading music illegally? i've heard about all these horror stories where people are getting sued for downloading music. some people that have hardly even downloaded much music. it's just hard for me to believe though. when i sign up for kazaa and such, i don't even put my real name or address. i know that they can still track it back to my computer, but it just seems like alot of work for them to go to. and why are the individual consumers getting sued rather than the host companies like kazaa and limewire? it's like arresting the drug users but letting the dealers keep dealing. i was just wondering though if any one has actually gotten sued, or if it's just rumors to keep us scared.
when i write stories i luv 2 listen 2 music that goes with the type of sotry i'm writing...? like if i'm writing a romance happy story i listen to pop or taylor swift etc if i'm writing a sad story i listen to sad country songs. wel now i'm writing an assassin story it has many genres like romance suspense but no horror so what songs should i add to my itunes playlist please names of songs and bands would be helpful ( preferably alternative or rock or whatever gets u pumped and inspired)
How difficult is the cello? I've been playing music most of my life, but I want to try something new (piano, guitar & bass are what I've focused on most over the yrs) & the cello is really appealing to me. I'm 15 just now, is that too late to start? I've heard many horror stories about how complex the cello is and how it takes years to become marginally non-crappy, would it make a difference that I could practise for hours a day if necessary (I have a lot of free time)? Also, how expensive are they generally? In £ preferably, thanks a lot. also I should probably add that where I live it'd be really difficult to get a teacher, so I'd probably be teaching myself. I know the violin is extremely tricky to self-teach, is it the same with cello? Should I even bother trying without a teacher?
Music major vs Medical? Hey, I know this is a tricky question to answer but I need second opinions. Please answer truthfully and with wisdom. I'm in Gr.11 and am getting good marks in school 89% GPA. But my true passion is music and guitar. I really want to go to Berklee College of Music but have been juggling the idea between music and a medical degree. It's just that I hear many horror stories of musicians coming out and being unemployed and with a huge school loan (living in Boston is expensive). Anyways I'm trying to get ideas and advice of which way I should go. Can a musician make a decent living? Also is there any advice so I can get into Berklee or any other music school? I'm currently taking guitar lessons from Long and Mcquade.
Modern horror media, dominant evil? Why is it always that in horror stories, comic books etc evil has to be more powerful and conquers good, nowadays most horror stories are based on such things and detestable things, would writing a horror story with a disturbing motive such as inhumanising acts be considered a sin, are you promoting evil indirectly? Similarly as music, films, games has been blamed for teenage behaviour such as video games influencing children to kill etc
What if you want to share songs between two iPods, but there are too many songs to put on CDs? What do I use? She has well over 500 songs. Someone told me that would be like 25 CDs. Well, OBVIOUSLY, it would be a bit difficult (not to mention expensive) to burn all her songs to CDs for us to share! So, please, please, PLEASE tell me there's an easier way to share music! I'd like to avoid installing something - I've heard too many horror stories about computers getting messed up EVEN if the downloads were supposed to be safe. Isn't there some easier way to transfer files? Thank you. Note: We're just looking to share music, not videos or anything. So don't make it complicated, because I'm kind of slow. :-D Lol!
Music Downloads? I just recently bought a new computer and I am looking for a program that I can download music from that is not going to give me viruses or make my computer run extra slow. I do not mind paying for a service if I have to but I do not know which one I can trust. I have heard horror stories about a lot of them and to be perfectly honest I am a bit paranoid. Any suggestions??? I have tried limewire, the free one, and I had a bad experience. I am no computer genius but if someone is and could fill in some blanks on music downloading for me that would be sweet too! Ideally, I would like one that has like a yearly charge or something but not like yahoo where it is 4.99 a month then $.79 to keep the song. Does that make sense? I think I am being picky.....
Neighbor nightmare stories? I lived in a downstairs apartment below two dumb hookers. They would turn their music up as loud as possible at all hours of the night. We asked them very nicely, quite a few times to please turn it down. Then one night at 4 am on a Wednesday, they were being obnoxiously loud so we hit the ceiling with a broom. We then heard the whores say "What the f**k" and they jumped on the floor as hard as they could as if to tell us we were being ridiculous for not wanting to hear their music at 4 am. When we called the cops they shut all their lights off and hid. They also threw lit cigarette butts everywhere including next to our propane gas grill. The landlords were told several times about them but nothing was done. What horror stories do you have?
Does anyone have any comments on the Compaq Presario F577CL? Is this a sufficient college student laptop? It will be used for attending online classes, writing papers, burning music, and using the internet. Any horror stories? It's onsale at Sam's Club for $634.26... is this a good deal?
Can you get in trouble for using rapidshare in universities? Okay, so I've heard all the horror stories and know that using torrents in universities is a bad idea. So, my question is this: if I use sites such as Rapidshare and Megaupload to download music, movies, and so forth, can the university see what exactly I'm downloading and will they care/ take action against me?
Music is my passion, but how can it work out? I realize how ridiculous sounds, and I realize it sounds delusional but I can't help it. I'm 29, and I teach Spanish. I'm responsible, and professional, but in my heart of hearts I don't wanna be a Spanish teacher forever. Music was always my dream, and my passion, but I became a teacher instead, and now I keep looking back. I've tried to move on with my life, but something always happens and opens up my eyes to what my heart's desire really was. This sounds delusional because my music has become second in my life for so long, that I'm scared it's too late for me to even dream of being a musician. More than being too late, I'm scared that I never had "what it takes" to begin with. I wasn't always the determined person I am now, but when I was young, I slept and breathed music and practiced the guitar until my fingers were bloody. I was a scared, naive girl and everyone told me horror stories about how I'd wind up in poverty if I didn't have a "stable" job, so I became a teacher. As a kid a series of music teachers told me I was talented, but in college I had a music professor who told me I was stupid and untalented every day and it broke my spirit and I tried to forget that music was my passion. Now here I am, a teacher, and spent my day locked in a room teaching Spanish to thirty kids who don't care about Spanish and they're only there because "getting pregnant 101" wasn't offered as an elective. They threaten me, talk back, and have gone so far as to hurt my physically and I dread every day. I keep wondering what would have happened if I had gone to a music conservatory, and wonder if I would be loved and admired and have that sense of belonging. I like Spanish, and it's my favorite language, but I love music more than anything. I keep trying to move on with my life but something always happens to remind me of where my heart is and it all comes back to me. I never did get married, and I feel like music would fill the void in my heart and if I had music in my life, I could accept that I wasn't meant to get married and I wouldn't long for a husband anymore. I truly love music, it's not that I want fame. However, if I had "what it takes," that "je ne sais pas quois," or whatever you call it, would I have been famous by now? How do you know if you have "what it takes" to be a musician? What do you do if your dream was to be a musician, but you became a teacher instead, and regret it so much but now you're 29 and afraid it's too late to change? I hope that no one from my school is reading this, but I am so thankful for the anonymity of the internet. That music professor at my uni makes Simon Cowell look like a fuzzy baby bunny.
Which Horror Book Series is this (don't know the name)? Can anyone help me with this, it's been bugging me for a while. When I was at school I read this series of books (horror stories), but I can't remember the title of any of the books or the series itself. I was about 12 when I read them and I'm 20 now so they're not really old or anything. It was set at some kind of school or college. The book I remember the best featured an American called Doug and a crazy killer who turned out to be the music teacher called Miss Church. This killer murdered several victims including cutting a girl called Chantel's throat with razor wire, frying another girl by rigging a computer and tortured another girl by drilling her teeth before she was rescued. Another story featured a theme of zombies who were brought back to life using fish of some kind. I think a character in this one was called Jean Pierre. Okay, I know it's random and vauge but does anyone know what series of books this is? Thanks!
What are some motivational songs to keep me going through labour? I'm due to give birth in 2 weeks and after hearing all the 'horror' stories, I think some good pick me up music will be really needed to keep me going! Can anyone think of some good motivational music for me to put on a CD?
!!!! Can you write a little HORROR STORY that includes 6 of these song titles? 1. Run for your life 2. The monster mash. 3. Eyes without a face 4. Blackbird 5. If I only had a brain 6. The long and winding road 7. Music! Music! Music! 8. Six Feet Away 9. Spirit 10. Magical mystery tour
What unsettling, poignant music should I be listening to? I'm currently writing a horror story inspired and alluding to the H.P. Lovecraft mythos. One of the things that helps me write is music that matches the tone of the story that I am writing. For instance, my horror story is grim, so I've been listening to a lot of music I consider to be dark as well as morbidly beautiful. Thus, I have been playing the soundtracks from "The Omen", "28 Days Later", "Requiem For A Dream", "Candyman", "Cannibal Holocaust", "Elfen Lied", "Donnie Darko", "Platoon", "Batman Begins", etc This is where the problem comes in. The music I've been employing is great, but it's beginning to get old. I'm starting to get restless, and I need a change in music. I need something subtle and not too energetic, otherwise I'll get distracted. Unfortunately, this excludes most rock and hip-hop. I require something that can conjure up themes of loneliness, desolation, and hopelessness. A lot of demands, I know. Still, is there anything anybody can reccomend me?
PSYCHO FANTASY instrumental music? I am looking for some INSTRUMENTAL (not with singing) music (may be a soundtrack) to use as a backgroung for a radio play which is set in a world of nightmares - but not really a horror story. It is just different, otherwordly odd, twisted. So should be the music. Not looking for a well known melodies by Danny Elfman and so on... Any ideas? Again, not looking for well known music - sorry, but Alfred Hitchcock's movie scores are more than a cliché

The man believed what the receptionist had said The man said “ how do you know that it is her in the room” The receptionist tells him that she loved to dance early in the morning and she had one red eye. please help x
How to write a psychological horror story? I really want to write a horror story, and have no idea where to start. Since it's writing, it has to create emotion in the reader without clear images, suspenseful music, and without actual screaming to add to the intensity. Just words. I know words are powerful, but it depends how you use them. So, I would like any advice on how to create a horror story using a very complicated element - the human psyche. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you.
Need some music for inspiration.? I'm writing a short story, its a horror story set in a damaged spaceship. I was wondering for you could find me or suggest some music to inspire me, something spacey and a little eerie, but not over the top horror. Thanks
Weird and twisted instrumental music? PSYCHO FANTASY instrumental music? I am looking for some INSTRUMENTAL (not with singing) music (may be a soundtrack) to use as a backgroung for a radio play which is set in a world of nightmares - but not really a horror story. It is just different, otherwordly odd, twisted. So should be the music. Not looking for a well known melodies by Danny Elfman and so on... Any ideas? Thanks, but as I mentioned before - I am not looking for CREEPY or HORROR music. More like a soundtrack to pc game "Pathologic" or soundtrack for Terry Gilliam's "Tideland". Something otherworldly strange, twisted, BUT NOT CREEPY. NOT LOOKING FOR SCARY MUSIC!!!! More like "Alice in Wonderland" or Terry Gilliam's "Tideland" twisted. NO CREEPY, HORROR stuff.
Musicians!!! Has anyone used this product? http://www.discrevolt.com/ My band and I are thinking of ordering these instead of CDs. They are download cards where the fan purchases one from us at a show or wherever and they can only download your music. success and horror stories would be great.
Does getting signed really matter to a band? My gothrock/industrial band farewell to autumn just put together a new CD. We've been playing out for a while, and have gotten to a place where we think getting commerical help would really help "MAKE" our band. Would it be a better idea to go with offers from an indie label, strongly persue a recognized label, or just simply pay for management out of our own pockets. Does anyone have experience. Even horror stories about the music bus. are fun to read, lol.
which music player should i get? i'm considering getting a red Zune 80. I've never had a zune before but i've had a total of 5 iPods. I like the actual ipod product but i don't like apple's customer service and my ipods don't seem to last for very long. I've heard horror stories about zunes but i've also heard that they're great. I like the prices, the colors, and the menus on the zunes and i like how you can customize them with cool engravings on the back but how resilient are they? do they last a long time? And since i have a few thousand songs on itunes how long would it take to convert them to the zune marketplace thing so i could put them on my zune?
Question for classical music fans? Any resources that give some of the stories behind different works? I have a book about composition and genres, and another one about the spiritual lives of the composers. Referring to individual works -- For instance there is a work that I've always thought of as "haunted house music", have heard it in old horror movies, and recently found out it's Bach! Would love to find out more about the historical context and his intentions when he composed it.
What Do You Think Of This Horror Story I Wrote In 2 Hours? THE 4TH OF JULY -Chapter 1- I will never forget what happened that night. I remember it like it was yesterday and thats not a good thing. July 4, 2001 was the night he ruined my party. My name is Chloe and this, this is my story. -Chapter 2- July 4, 2001, Tuesday, my friends and I were hanging around school grounds after school at Chelling High. The sun was still high and shining, we talked about our plans for that night. "So Chloe..... whats up for tonight?" said Mona, with her blue eyes burning into mine. "Well...." I said, "I was thinking about throwing a party, my parents are out all night so what the heck? Party at my house!" Carrie and Megan those are my other two friends. All that was in all four of our minds at that time was, tonights gonna be so fun! But the truth is, We had no idea what we had coming that night. -Chapter 3- The word about the party got out faster than i thought it would, and by the time the party started, at least 30 people were there. Us four girls were in a group sitting on th sofa, yelling over the rap music playing in the background. "I'M GONNA GO GET A BEER!" said Carrie, "ANYONE ELSE WANT ONE???" "I DO!" said Mona, "ME TOO!" said Megan. "CHLOE?" said Carrie. "NO NO NO, THERE AUTTA BE ONE OF US NOT DRUNK AND THAT'LL BE ME!" I said. "OKAY THEN....." said Carrie. As Carrie walked to the garage to go get a beer, the music faded behind her. When she walked in she could only hear the beat of the music now. She opened the refriderator, and got 3 beers. As she was about to leave she heard a screaming in the backyard. She walked over to the garage door, pressed the button and the garage door opened slowly. She seen a pair of legs, garage door going up, two hands, one that held a knife, garage door was fully up and there was standing, a person knife in one hand, a girls decapited head in the other, the person was wearing a fencing mask. Carrie screamed at the top of her lungs, but the whole party couldnt hear anything from the garage. The person, assuming a man, came closer, closer, closer, closer, Carrie stepped back, back, back, then she reached the wall. She then took the beers and threw them at the man, the man showed no emotion, or reaction, he soon reached Carrie, she dashed to the left, ran out the garage door screaming. The man then walked towards her, Carrie hid behind a tree, thinking the man wouldnt find her. All she heard was silence. So, she was about to run back to the party for help. But before she could move the man wrapped his hand around her mouth, and stabbed her in the back. She fell to the ground. He then pulled her head up by her hair, and slit her throat, blood went everywhere. Carrie was dead. -Chapter 4- 30 minutes after Carries death. Megan, twirling her long blonde hair said, "Damn! Where is she with our beers?". "Hmmmmm" said Mona, "Maybe she ran into a hot guy and they ran off together?" Mona then started laughing, and so did Megan and I. The laughter soon was broke off by the power shutting down. Everyone at the party stared at each other. I stood up on the sofa, "Please, don't panic!" I said, "Just sit tight and my friends and I will fix everything!...." "Come on girls" I mumble. and we all go in different places to check. I went outside to check the power box, Megan went upstairs to look for Carrie, and Mona went to the basement to look for Carrie. When I went out there, i messed with the power box for a bit, until, i finally fixed it. I heard the music pumping back on and everyone cheering. But as i am about to head back inside, i see a figure laying in the grass. Carrie? I slowly walk towards the figure. It was Carrie. Her long brown hair over her face, blood all over her tanktop. Mona! Megan! Oh no! I have to get them before its to late! -Chapter 5- Mona, who was searching the basement, was looking everwhere but Carrie was not to be found. She was heading up the stairs back to the party, when a knife slit through the stairs, slicing Monas shin, and she fell toppling down the stairs. Mona was struggling to get up. She crawled on her stomach pushing herself forward with her arms. Her black bangs toppled over her eyes, absorbing the tears. The killer came up behind her, flipped her over on her back, and raised the knife. "No....." whispered Mona in a hoarse voice. He forced the knife down into her chest. She gasped for air, then, suddenly, died. The man went upstairs, leaving Mona in a puddle of blood. -Chapter 6- I was searching everywhere for Mona and Megan. I finally found Megan but no sign of Mona. "MEGAN!" i screamed, "WE HAVE TO CALL THE POLICE! CARRIES DEAD! CARRIES DEAD!". Megan stares at me like im joking, when she sees the expresion on my face she then starts to panic. She pulls her cell phone out of her pocket. dials 9 1 1, and speaks to the police. "Okay, theyre on their way!" She said. "Lets go get Mona!" I said. Megan and I h sorry heres the rest---- Megan and I head torwards the basement, we open the door and go down. It was dark so we left the door open for light. As we look around for Mona the door slams, leaving us in the dark. Megan pulls out her phone and uses it for light. they head torwards the stairs when I trip over something. I get up and Megan shines the light downward, there was Mona, in a pool of blood. I scream at the top of my lungs and run up stairs. The door was locked. I turn the light switch on next to the door. I look down the stairs and theres Megan, looking at Mona in shock. But I was really shocked when i saw who was behind Megan, a man with a fencing mask on with a axe in his hand, he lifts the axe at Megan. "MEGAN! NO!" I scream. The axe swoops down at Megans neck, decapitating her, blood splatters everywhere. -The Final Chapter- I scream continuously staring at the two dead bodies, and the man comes up the stairs. Im dead, I thought, Im gonna di Megan and I head torwards the basement, we open the door and go down. It was dark so we left the door open for light. As we look around for Mona the door slams, leaving us in the dark. Megan pulls out her phone and uses it for light. they head torwards the stairs when I trip over something. What Do You Think Of My Horror Story So Far? THE 4TH OF JULY -Chapter 1- I will never forget what happened that night. I remember it like it was yesterday and thats not a good thing. July 4, 2001 was the night he ruined my party. My name is Chloe and this, this is my story. -Chapter 2- July 4, 2001, Tuesday, my friends and I were hanging around school grounds after school at Chelling High. The sun was still high and shining, we talked about our plans for that night. "So Chloe..... whats up for tonight?" said Mona, a beautiful 17 year old girl with dark red lipstick, blue eyes, short black hair, red plaid skirt with black lines, brown furry boots, and a pink shirt on that says ''Rock On". "Well...." I said, "I was thinking about throwing a party, my parents are out all night so what the heck? Party at my house!" Carrie, a cute 16 year old girl with long brown hair, green eyes, blue soffe shorts, and a white tanktop, and Megan, a, what guys say, hot and sexy 17 year old girl with blonde hair that went down to the end of her shoulders, brown eyes, short jean shorts, and a red shirt with a pink heart on it. Those are my other two friends. Me, well it was 8 years ago, and I was 17 at the time with bright orange shiny hair, blue eyes, with..... i think it was a Blue miniskirt, with a green shirt on. The man took a huge fire work from the garage, went outside, and aimed it at carrie, lit it, and PHOOOOOOOOO! hit Carrie in the back of the head, she fell to the ground. The man went torwards her, a hole in the back of her head. Carrie was dead.
Rate this Fantasy/Horror story, please? Gregory walked through a forest one day and stumbled upon a group of strange looking people. Several of them were dancing around in a circle to music. Two of them were playing a harp and a lute. The people were very graceful and quite handsome. They looked almost completely human except for their slightly pointed ears and bright silvery hair. Their short, slender bodies were clothed in dark green clothes. There were males as well as females. Suddenly, the music stopped and everyone of the strange beings glared at Gregory resentfully. gregory suddenly realized what these people were. They were forest Elves! He knew he had interrupted a ceremony and faced certain harm. The leader of them was an exquisitely beautiful female with bright purple eyes and a shapely form. Her calm demeanor wiped away any apprehension Gregory had felt. "What is your name, mortal?" "Gregory...Gregory of Waterdale." "Gregory of Waterdale", the Elven woman said sternly. "You know the penalty for witnessing a Dance Ritual without consent? You must answer a riddle to leave unharmed. A wrong answer means certain death." "What is the riddle?" Gregory asked nervously "What is more precious than gold and diamonds and even love or life itself?" "Power?' You are wrong!!! The answer is mercy, and you shall have none!!!" The Elves shouted in crazed fury and fell upon Gregory, tearing him to pieces. The End.
Please rate the intro to my horror story, do you think my writing is any good? There were three of them huddled up on the bench, at the bus stop. They were huddled up real tight to shield each other from the cold as they waited for the bus 117 to take them home. Of the three, were two boys, Andrew and Mark who sat at the edges of the cold bench with their secret crush – Ashley. They all lived close by, but they never saw Ashley, not by the river, fishing, not in the park, playing. So now, they sat with quiet grins on their face, content enough just being this close to her, but Ashley preferred to be alone, she didn’t want their company. She just liked the music. The boys would peak every few seconds or so (she’d think they were staring at where her dress met her breasts), and they would innocently ask “Are you cold?” and she would shake her head a little (even though she was) her mouth not moving, her eyes not leaving the trail of the trees. She knew if she said yes, their hands would be free to roam her body. She felt their stare, though it might have been just her mind at play, but it wasn’t, no, they were soon gonna be bored and restless, and their fingers will jab into her weak flash, under her dress, pushing, twisting grabbing, just like Billy had. She’d look at them from a distance, and watch. Like those trees on the other side of the road that waved at her, with their branches contorted into a warm embrace. The wind blows awfully mellow today, Ashley thought. The wind blows awfully mellow, the piper plays his song. I can hear his music, she thought. And there was music, surely there had to be, as she sat like that, there, but Ashley knew the music played just for her. The music would make everything OK. But not for the naughty boys. She felt safe. They couldn’t harm her, not now – it was all over. The piper played his song. The clock had chimed the thirteenth time. The piper played… And Ashley looked to her right and gasped – for it was only the most natural of reactions to gasp for a lady to have seen a knife inside a boy’s heart. She hadn’t realised she had the strength to jam it in that deep, nor too make a hole that wide. Blood squirted out like a fountain, and it reminded her of Billy Hodge’s blood. Nicely done, she thought she heard her mother say, as she stood above a lifeless corpse, in a small lake of Billy Hodge’s warm, frothing crimson. She turned to face the other boy, Surely he was gone by now, she thought. But he wasn’t, he was just looking at her, his jaw dislocated in what must have been fear (at least that’s what it looked like, that’s just how far he had opened it). “Boo!” Ashley said, and Mark looked at her bewildered. “Real funny Ashley,” Mark said quietly, before she her gaze departed for the horizon. But Mark was worried for her. He worried, for too often she’d leave like that, with no notice or a goodbye, she’d leave for somewhere far away, to a place that churned black purple thoughts. Horrible thoughts, filled with blood and death and broken bones, and Mark would wonder why she was like this, and even more, how he could help her. Some part of him would tell him: Leave the girl be, she’s too much trouble. But he couldn’t, not since that November day when his eyes locked with hers, and he drowned in their strange and beautiful depths. As he thought of what to do, there was a sound of wheels cluttering on the pebbles. 117 was here. “Do you think I can come over?” Mark asked and was awarded with a nod. It took a second to sink in – he had been building up to ask her this question for a long time, and each time he play pretended with the mirror his palms would sweat like crazy and his heart'd beat so hard he thought it would break out of him and run off somewhere, and now the answer came almost too quickly to be real. But it was real and he was happy nonetheless. And so, Mark, Ashley and Anthony got up and walked into the bus that would take them all home.
Which Horror Story Should I Write First? I have got several titles and ideas in my mind but I'm not sure which one I should put on paper first! Please just tell me your favourite title and I'll see if I agree with you. Thanks! Death Ref, The Torture Chamber, AK-4+7, Jupiter Fly Trap, Hell's Music. P.S. I am writing for 10-14 year olds. Death Ref - A teenage boy trying to impress a girl by playing soccer sees that there is more to the referee than just a scarred, yellow face... AK-4+7 - (I need to decide on a name) has a dark past. But from the moment she almost got shot and onwards, she is amazingly good at maths. I wonder why...? Hell's Music - (I need to decide on a name) has a weird ability, whenever he puts his ear to the ground, he hears strange music unknown to mankind. He soon finds out why when the town has an earthquake... Jupiter Fly Trap - NASA denied it. They couldn't tell the human race about it. When a Venus fly trap is planted in space, it grows, morphs, and later come back to earth... The Torture Chamber - My Dad's a homicidal maniac who kills friends with spiked coffins, mases and huge guns. What fun!
Would anyone like to proofread my horror story? I know it is a bit long, but any help would be awesome, thanks. Here it is: Once upon a time, there was a man named Henry. Henry was an impeccable Piano player. He could play anything and was efficient at doing so. One day, Henry woke up, and went on his usual routine. He then went to his Piano. Started playing until his doorbell rang. He was shocked, and he thought to himself, "Wow, this is the first time in years that someone has came to my door". He quickly opens the door and no one is there. He looks all around but again, finds no one. Henry slammed the door with a furious gesture, went back to his Piano, and started playing his Piano with anger, confusion, and anxiety.Once Henry was at this stage, there was no stopping him. Uncontrollably yelling and screaming. Since Henry lived in the middle of nowhere, no one could hear him or contact him. Suddenly, the doorbell rang again. Henry pulled his hair with excitement and pain. He sprinted to the door quick as he could. Opened it, and found a small package lying on the floor. The package read, "Henry, you do as your told. In this package are some drugs.Take them, and you'll find a whole new style of playing your piano". Henry went inside, and sat the package down on the floor. He thought and thought about this choice he had. He was already flawless at his piano work, and didn't need a new style but was always accepting new ideas. Henry played "Two Guitars" and then went to bed abruptly. The next morning, Henry rushed to where he laid the package. Opened it, and found Heroin inside. Henry didn't know how to inject it. That didn't stop him, since there was instructions inside. Henry injected the Heroin and fell down. When he fell down, he clipped his head on the table. Blood was pouring out of his head and Henry was in pain. He then went to the piano and got the sheet music that was with the package. The blood was still pouring and getting on his sheet music to an almost, unreadable stage. He didn't care, and Henry played the music as if he wasn't drugged out. Henry thought to himself, This style is an achievement, a reward, and I love it". Little did Henry know was that he was overdosed on Heroin. He started vomiting all over his piano, and started nodding back and forth. Henry went back to the package and injected more. It was minutes before Henry was reaching death. He went back to his piano and plumped onto it. Henry was dead.

Do you have a "losing your virginity" HORROR story? I have a friend with a daughter whom I'm fond of, who is 12, and will be 13 in August. She's a great kid, bright, witty, but she's just a kid. And through the family grapevine there's tell this 12 yr old girl is talking about planning to lose her virginity soon. She's taking a very good sex ed class in her jr. high school that teaches safer sex practices as well as abstinence. Now, her mother wants to do everything in her power to keep her a virgin as long as possible, but aknowledges birth control may have to be in her near future, no matter how much she, Mom, dislikes it. We all know how sex is romanticized in movies and music, and how mysterious and alluring it was to us as teens. Thus, my question. Do you have a story I can share with this girl about the bad side of losing her virginity...pregnancy, STDs, feeling used, bad reputation, etc..? I want to help save this girl from herself before it's too late. Thanks so much. Well I'm not looking for anything exaggerated. True life stories about real repercussions from from real people who have had bad experiences losing their virginity are what I'm looking for. Agreed she should be, and is being told about the responsibilities of sex, and how in a mature loving relationship it's a wonderful thing. However, bad things can and do happen, even on the very first time, and I'd like to share some of THOSE stories with her as well. There are two sides to every coin.
Revenge of the Instruments - the hazards of music-making... Sometimes music-making magic tarnishes a little, and after years of dedication and (mostly) pleasure, a musical instrument can - well, turn against its master, causing significant health problems or even the occasional nasty injury. For example - the unfortunate Baroque composer/director Jean-Baptiste Lully received a nasty foot injury, thanks to his beloved "baton" - resulting in gangrene, then death... Most of my musician friends have experienced significant problems directly related to their chosen instrument - nightmarish things such as burst ear-drums, nerve damage, RSI, violin strings snapping in faces...I even heard of a bagpiper who ended up with mouldy lungs - a direct result of his chosen instrument :o/ But despite these horrors, the urge to play music continues, unabated. My woeful tales: years of high-pressure bassoon-playing have irreparably damaged my Eustachian tube, to the point where one ear feels permanently blocked. Before that, as a flute player, I accidentally broke one of my front teeth when bringing my instrument up too quickly - ouch. Great stuff, I know - but, well, you keep soldiering on... What about you? Has your instrument ever waged its own private war on you? I'm curious to hear your stories... Hafwen x

which are the better laptops for basic home use (net, dvds, music, finance, etc.)? http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?_dyncharset=ISO-8859-1&id=abcat0502003&type=category&usc=abcat0500000&cp=1&sp=%2Bcurrentprice+skuid&nrp=15&qp=crootcategoryid%23%23-1%23%23-1%7E%7Eq70726f63657373696e6774696d653a3e313930302d30312d3031%7E%7Ecabcat0500000%23%230%23%2313l%7E%7Ecabcat0502000%23%230%23%231t%7E%7Encabcat0502003%23%230%23%2311&pagetype=listing#storeInventoryLink My price range is 550 or less. I am somewhat interested in the HP and the cheapest toshiva (429 dollar range). But I would like to get an energy star laptop. I don't know about AMD processors because the venting system is set on the side and it blows out very very hot air though the Toshiba that has the amd is considered energy star. I need 3 GB of ram and a fast enough processor for basic home entertainment use. I probably need a laptop with a decent graphics cards or lcd because I have heard horrors stories about laptops being too blurry or too small (text) in which Vista doesn't help that much. I have also heard about DPI to help with that problem but I am very cautious. Perhaps I should stick with desktops.
Help me to pick up a gift? Hi there, I need to pick up a gift for a friend who is British and he is also an artist (he is a painter and also make drawings), but I don´t know what to buy him for Christmas. Name this particular band for me, please? So, I came across a band in the summer of 2007. The commercial for their new album was shown constantly on the music station Fuse. The lead singer is a female, with black hair. The music video has a horror story theme. The genre of the band was rock. I'm trying to look for this band, but I have no idea what the name of the band is. Can anyone help me? And no, it wasn't Evanescence nor Flyleaf.

Hi.I live in Iran and I'm 18.I've translated these Iranian pop songs by myself..This singer's albums were chosen as the best pop music for the best and the most meaningful lyrics and the best melody in the Europe. It's somehow similar to the "believe" album by Cher.If you like to listen to them just e-mail me and I'll send them to you in no time.Cos I'd sent them to 11 Americans and I don't need to attach them again. They all loved them. First:(mahboobeye shab) when the night steps in the gardens, the flowers cannot breathe when the darkness rains (comes down) from the sky, the blooms become sad when the darkness doesn't allow the flowers to breathe, the "love flower" stays awake at night she (the love flower) doesn't allow the night to have any effects on her, her smell can be felt even at the other side of the gardens if (someone) puts the love flower in a vase, and plants thistles all around her (even) if (someone) walls up all around her body (existence), (even) if everyone accuses all of her fibers (even with all these difficulties) the smell of the love flower makes its way to the beyond of all the stone walls (and) the love flower, has a shelter in the heart of the blooms at nights when the flowers are sitting in the darkness, and they all have closed their eyes because of the horrer of the night (and) when their body trembles becuase of the fear of the darkness, you "lover flower" are the shelter for them Second:(yaade man baash) you left (me) and your memories have sat down in my mind without you I'm the prisoner of the impossible wishes (ambitions) you didn't keep me in your memory (you didn't think of me) but, I broke in the memory of you I didn't fall in love with anyone but you, (because) you're far from me sing with me and think of me, think of me (keep me in your memory) without any excuses when the moon is awake, think of me with all your love if you be (with me), it is possible to pass the (unfortunate) events and) it is possible to learn how to burst into flames, in the fire of your love) if you're away (from me), if you're not (with me), (at least) be the breath of my cry till the end of the world, forever, keep me in your memory (think of me) Third:(Tasavvor kon) Imagine.Even if it is hard to imagine.a world where each person is truly fortunate!Imagine a world where money, race, and power have no place!a world where riot police is not the answer to the calls for unity!a world with no nuclear bombs, no artillery, and no bombardments!a world where no child will leave his legs on land mines!Everybody free, totally free! no one in pain, no pain! You wouldn't read in newspapers that whales committed suicide!Imagine a world with no hatred, no gunpowder,no cruelty of arrogant, no fear, no coffin!Imagine a world filled with smile and freedom!full of flowers and kisses! I wish in the last moment, you could read the love in my eyes Your heart didn't hear my voice, you left (me) and stayed with a stranger If someday I tell you this story that I've got used to you My heart's lucked up in the prison of friendship, in your heart If one night, I get to the truth, I'll become the lover God (And) I'll say my secret to the star of the western sea Seventh: Hey actor, don't cry. We're all like each other When we get up in the morning, we cover our face with a mask Someone becomes a teacher and someone becomes a homeless Someone becomes a song-writer, someone becomes a song-seller The old life's mask is on our faces till night The tears behind the mask are soundless as usual Whoever you are, come out of the back of your mask Don't talk about that fate, free yourself of the night's illusion Draw the shape of an outlet on the cage's bars For just once (in your life), breathe in place of yourself (It means don't pretend that you're someone else) I wish it was possible for us to be ourselves (Not to disguise who we are) and that'd be enough Even if it's as brief as a short glance or a breath Until when (should we allow) our mask to talk in place of us? Until when (staying) silence will be my roll in this show (life) I want to sing this very song on the floor show so loudly (I want to) tear my mask and cry out loud as if I'm myself (Not my mask) Eightth: The figure in the photo which is in the album is wet I kissed your memory again, I've asked myself this unanswerable question thousands of times so far: What makes the songs lifelike? Its pulse is the throat of yesterday (It means my throat could produce a better voice in the past, so my songs were liflike) I know that without you, my tomorrow will be the same grey color as yesterday's (grey color) I'm thirsty like the sun and more landless than the wind, more immediate than the song, outspoken like a loud cry I'm lonelier than silence, brighter than the star, I love more than ever, sing with me again I open the eyelids of the window, there are murmers of the moon light in the lane All the windows are silent, sounds like (everyone in) this deserted lane is asleep I call out your name aloud noiselessly, my crying closes the window Once again, the invisible hands of night closes the eyelids of my window sorry, if it was too long. And also sorry for the gramatical mistakes. The rest of them are as beautiful as these, but I haven't translated them yet.

Chinese characters for a tattoo? I am going to get a tattoo (my first) in rememberance for my father-in-law who died unexpectedly 3 months ago. I want to get 4 words tattooed in his honor, but I want to make sure the Chinese translation is correct. I've heard too many horror stories about people getting wrong ones done. I don't know any Chinese people to ask, so I was hoping you could guide me. The four words are: Music Education Service Family (Service, as in military service) Thanks!
Looking for "mysterious" music of a certain variety? While I'm writing, particularly fiction with a horror/mystery theme, I like to keep some music on in the background that keeps me in the mood. I'm getting a bit bored with what I've been using for years, though, and I'd like suggestions on music which is similar. Here's a sample of what I have now: Ninth Gate soundtrack Swimming Pool soundtrack Peter Gabriel's older songs, pre-1985, like Slow Mirambas George Clinton Wild Things contributions Mysterious, mildly creepy, contemplative, but not too radical. I need the music to keep me focused on the atmosphere of the story, not to distract me. Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks!
Will someone please teach me why death is so popular now? It's saturating our music, T-shirts, movies, television shows and is the #1 topic of most news stories, whether paper or electronic. When I was a kid, death was at funerals and horror shows...ONLY. What's going on here, really? Do you know? .
Does anyone else actually like the so-called 'emo' music of today? It's easy to answer "Yeah, whiny emos, duh," but I'm asking you to restrain for a moment. First of all I do know what 'real' emo music is. It started out in the later 80s, and there were bands such as Rites of Spring, Sunny Day Real Estate, and the Get-up Kids until the genre mostly disappeared towards the end of the 90s. It was generally punk-based. Somehow, at this same time, the 'emo' stereotype was formed. The 'emos' today stereotypically listen to bands that have that image but actually could be classified with many other rock genres. If you actually give them a listen, they aren't the whiny, inept groups you expect, at least in my book. As I said, it's all in the image. The music isn't really all that different. In my opinion it's the alternative of today, and it gets a place in the mainstream because there are stereotypes that distinguish the bands. For instance The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. They started out as a pretty hard band, probably considered screamo. Something about their image led to the 'emo' label. Their last album was very pop-rock-based, and if you listen to it, it's really not much different from Bon Jovi as of recent years or Matchbox 20. The lyrics are generally about maturing through life, and they don't sound particularly whiny to me. Then, you have Fall Out Boy and Panic! at the Disco. Once again, it's just their images. They are both fairly poppy and energetic. Fall Out Boy isn't the sligtest bit 'emo' and doesn't deserve the negative stereotypes. Panic! at the Disco at least makes a little more sense, but it's also a misconception. Their lyrics are often very deep and complex and need analyzing. They often speak through metaphors, and many of their songs are about the abstract, wealth and grand events for the elite, today's fashion and how it applies, and broken trust in relationships. But it's mature, not whiny. The song "I Write Sins not Tragedies" is lyrical genius about a cheating bride being found out just before the wedding, and it would have made some great literature years ago, in my opinion. AFI started out as a hard-core punk band. Listen to 1995's Answer that and Stay Fashionable. You'll probably mess yourself out of shock. Then they changed to horror-punk, and eventually, a combination of alternative and, at times, screamo. Their lyrics tend to be dark, but not in an immature whiny way. Like Panic! at the Disco, they would have made excellent stories a century ago. And I can't leave out the biggest stereotype of the 'emo' community. My Chemical Romance. My question is... Why??? The band started out with a punk-based sound, and now can almost be considered a reincarnation of classic rock and arena rock. 2006's The Black Parade was a very creative story revolving around a dying individual. Resulting in a huge misconception. It DOES NOT involve suicide. It's about 'The Patient,' who is dying from cancer and looking back at his life. The song "Dead!" is about how his life was wasted, and how he never did what he wanted and lived a happy life. "Teenagers" could have fit with any decent classic rock band some decades ago. "Welcome to the Black Parade" is all about carrying on. Don't tell me the chorus "And though you're dead and gone, believe me. You're memory will carry on," is negative. The word death is very misunderstood. In "Famous Last Words," the character gets a second chance. Look at this chorus. "I am not afraid to keep on living / I am not afraid to walk this world alone / Honey, if you stay, you'll be forgiven / Nothing you can say could stop me going home." And they blame THIS band on suicides??? They speak out against it! I guess death is just too touchy of a subject. It just puzzles me that generally respectable bands take fire for self-harm and suicide. Seriously, just listen to them. I have tricked many people who criticized 'emo' groups by having them listen to them. They said they were all right, and their faces went pale when I told them who they really were. If anything, today's hip-hop is in a state of disarray. It was very decent in the late 80s and the 90s, even heading into this decade, but it's now abandoned all decent meaning. I used to speak out when people said it was nothing but violence, b!tches and hoes, and money, but now, I've found, it really is! With arrogance and lack of skill on top of it all. I'd just like to know if anyone takes these 'emo' bands for what they really are and, like me, finds them to be some of the only decent stuff hitting the mainstream these days. Before you flame me, I am generally a metal fan, with classic and hard rock roots, and I'm just as big into alternative. That being said, people have taken today's 'emo' music all wrong. Listen to the countless sappy love songs that made hits in the 70s, 80s, and 90s. Tell me what whiny is. Honestly.

Alternative to Windows Media Player? I normally use iTunes to organize my music, but after several annyoing issues with my iPod, I bought a Creative Zen MicroPhoto, which is not compatible with iTunes. I have been using Windows Media Player to organize my music, and although I haven't run into any major snags, I really miss the ease of use of iTunes. I've heard horror stories about the software that came with my player so I don't want to use that either. Is there any media player/organizer that is similar to iTunes and works with my mp3 player? I am running on Windows XP Home.
My personality is so off the wall! Here's an example: Can I love Horror Movies and Disney at the same time? Here's a brief description of my weird personality: (Keep in mind I'm a sixteen year old kid, which makes this even weirder) I love Heavy Metal Music but, at the same time I can go and listen to Leonard Cohen or Bob Dylan and my ears can be just as pleased. I have a huge Disney Obsession, but as I said before, I love classic Horror films. [Example: Last night I watched The Toy Story (with my little sister), then immediately after I went and watched A Nightmare On Elm Street] I enjoy reading comic books, but then I can go and read Mark Twain or Edgar Allan Poe and have the same amount of reading pleasure. I love to play Halo with my friends, but I don't mind going to play Lego Star Wars with my little brother. And That's just the examples I could think of for the moment. As you can see I have two totally different personality's. My friends say I have the most diverse set of interests and hobbies, but they say that is what makes me unique. They say that's why I can make friends so easily because I have something I can relate to, on about every subject possible. Anyway, this just occured to me last night, and I would love to see what you guys think! Thanks for answering!
Anyone remember this American TV horror show - on in late 80s on ITV? Does anyone remember this American horror show? It was shown on TV in the late 80s - I think it was on channel 3 (or ITV1) at 9.00pm? Each episode told a different story. My guess is that it was probably made in the late 70s/early 80s. I remember very few details but it started by showing forked lightning going across a night sky. A white light would then trace the outline of a man's face, then lightning would flash again and light up the features of the face. It also had creepy synthesiser music. I remember in one particular episode in which a coach of people ended up stranded in the desert and they send a football player to run off alone to find help. I'd really like to find out any information about the series - in particular what it was called, and if it's available to buy anywhere? Thank you!
recommend me some real good horror films? I love horror movies but I also have missed some very good ones. For me, gore is the least important part of horror movies. I would prefer atmosphere (as in Burton's Sleepy Hollow, which I loved despite it's 'hollywood' story; or the Others). Or suspense/scares (as in misery). I love all the classic universal monster movies. I also love horror movies that have a comedic element as well- i like movies like "the faculty" or "slither". I liked the concept of urban legend, but the way it was made was average. As for slashers, im not a huge fan but if theyre effective ill watch them; i thought halloween apart from the music and shear originality, was nothing special, and Friday the 13th was not very good at all. however i love the scream series. i havent seen many classic horrors besides the omen, the universal monsters, and i saw alot of the others on tv (Which obviously cuts out alot). But basically my favorite genres are just creepy/atmospheric, or something involving high school/college. So anyone have any good recommendations..basically anything good (doesnt even have to be scary, just nothing with extreme gore as the only positive)..thanks alot! anything less known..ive seen 90% of those movies
Anyone have a good horror movie plot/idea? Ok so my friends and I decided we should make a horror movie and theres about 8 of us doing it. We want a storyline thats really good, whatever it is as long as its good, i can make it scary. Weve had ideas of this kid is a dork at school and this group of people always make fun of him. he over heres them one day talking about partying at a friends house. so he breaks into the house and no one notices until people start missing. he kils them all one by one. ok so for your help to help me with a story is theres 8 of us we have nightvision on camera. i can add blood effects music sounds all that stuff umm the kids house were doing the movie in is huge and could be very scary at night, its 5 storys and huge with a huge yard and all sorts of good stuff. so thanks for your help oh and if i use one of your ideas ill put you in the credits as Story Director and thats the problem isd i want something thats never been done before
What horror movie is this? I remember a bit less than ten years ago I was watching the sci-fi channel, and this movie came on. This movie I do not know the name of...that's what I am hoping someone can answer. It was a horror/thriller I guess you could say. It was dubbed, but i can't remember if it was of Spanish origin. Well, from what i remember, it was about a couple. The man was a writer and he was writing a script, or a story about a witch. and blah blah.. his wife starts seeing the witch, and the witch starts to kill people. They played weird music each time they showed her...and i'm pretty sure it would glow green wherever she was. Does anyone know what I am talking about? I have been looking everywhere! Thanks!
Music For a dance...? im 15 and i need a cool horror movie with like a story teller...its for a dance im doing i would appreciate some ideas Xx Thanks (ask for some more info!)
IPod, Creative Zen or Zune? I'm looking for an mp3 player, and am hoping for opinions on the brand to get. I mostly want it for music, and am wondering on: accessories, price, docking, and just general horror stories that might persuade me not to be buy one or the other. Plus, I think I'm leaning on Microsoft Zune.
XM or Sirius? I want to subscribe to satellite radio for my car. Which provider should I go with? I don't really care about sports coverage, or any other "niche" programming. All I want is to have commercial free, DJ free music. I've checked out both program guides, and the music selection is very similar. Pricing also seems to be similar. Is one really better than the other? Does anyone have testimonials or horror stories that they would like to share that can help me make a more sound decision?
I discovered this article on the yahoo home page & i think its a very good ideal will you participate also? Pass this message out to as many people as you can.Make me wonder why i haven't heard about this on the news sounds like everyone would want this. NEW YORK - On Sept. 11, Jacob Sundberg of San Antonio has pledged to make eye contact and smile at everyone he meets. Kaitlin Ulrich will bring goody baskets to the police and fire departments in and around Philadelphia. And 100 volunteers from New York – 9/11 firefighters and family members among them – are going to Groesbeck, Texas, to rebuild a house destroyed by a tornado last December. ADVERTISEMENT This is a minute sampling of the hundreds of thousands of people who have pledged to memorialize those killed on 9/11 by doing something good for others. The heroic acts of all those killed trying to save others that September morning has spawned a growing grass-roots movement. The goal is to ensure that future generations remember not just the horror of the attacks, but also the extraordinary outpouring of humanity during the days, weeks, and months that followed. "It was the worst possible day imaginable, and in some ways, a remarkable day, too, in the way in which people responded," says David Paine, cofounder of myGoodDeed.org. "We need to rekindle the way we came together in the spirit of 9/11: It would be almost as much a tragedy to lose that lesson." Sept. 11 has inspired dozens of philanthropic efforts – from groups dedicated to building memorials to foundations designed to improve education in the Middle East. But myGoodDeed has a more universal goal: to turn 9/11 into a day dedicated to doing good – from small, simple things like Lisa Scheive's pledge to help stranded turtles cross the road in Pompano Beach, Fla., to lifesaving efforts, such as John Feal's decision in New York to donate one of his kidneys to help a seriously ill 9/11 worker. The idea has been endorsed by members of Congress, and at myGoodDeed's urging, President Bush for the first time this year included a call for volunteering in his annual 9/11 proclamation. After major disasters, Americans have historically tapped a deep reserve of compassion and reached out to others. But in the months and years that follow, those compassionate and civic urges tend to recede. Studies at Harvard's Saguaro Seminar on Civic Engagement in America found that in as few as five months after 9/11, most Americans had gone back to their daily lives and were not more engaged as they said they'd hoped to be. Part of the goal of turning 9/11 into a national day of service is to remind Americans of the inherent joy of giving and to hopefully spur volunteering and charitable acts throughout the year. "I don't know of any research that's been done on one day of service, but studies have shown that people who do volunteering in high school are more likely to volunteer throughout their lives," says Thomas Sander, executive director of the Saguaro Seminar. The idea of turning 9/11 into a day of service, charity, and good deeds came from the family and friends of one man: Glenn Winuk, a volunteer fireman and lawyer who worked a block and a half from the World Trade Center. After he helped evacuate his Broadway law offices, he grabbed a medic's bag and ran toward the smoke pouring from the South Tower. That's where his remains were found after the towers fell. Mr. Paine and Glenn's brother Jay had been friends for years. They decided that turning 9/11 into a day of service was best way to memorialize Glenn. "It completely reflects the way my brother lived his life, and it also specifically reflects how he died," says Mr. Winuk, myGoodDeed.org cofounder. "He laid his life on the line for other people that day." In 2002, Paine and Winuk sent e-mails to friends and family and suggested they do a good deed, such as donate a day's pay on 9/11. Then the idea evolved, and they founded myGoodDeed.org. In 2004, 100,000 visited their website and pledged to do a good deed on 9/11. This year, those pledging number more than 250,000. "A lot of people don't know what to do on 9/11," says Paine. "This hits people in their heart and their soul. It connects with something that's fundamental." WOULD THIS OLD MAN FREAK YOU OUT? A TRUE STORY. When I was living in the downtown eastside of Vancouver? I met a an ex-marine named Garry. He seemed friendly at first...then came the bomb...Garry once had a woman roommate years ago who ended up murdered on Robert Pickton's pig farm. Remember that horror story? Garry told me he met the guy and quote "I never liked him at all..." Yet I couldn't stop her from going to the farm...she was a hooker an alcoholic and drug addict." I freaked out at this story and decided never to talk to this weirdo again. To this day I can't believe I sat down and had tea with Garry. He used to write me poetry and songs...out of friendship only though...he was not attracted to me. He likes playing the guitar and sings in a music jam. DO YOU THINK HE IS CREEPY? I DO.
Illegal Immigration destroying America's middle class - Us or Them? Economist Paul Roberts wrote on January 21, 2003, "Will America become a Third World country in 20 years?" In the Christian Science Monitor, December 11, 2003, "But as the US economy shifted toward service jobs, factory jobs have steadily lost-in fact in just the past 39 months, some 2.8 million jobs vanished." Where are they going? China. India. Mexico. Deep into the Third World. "You Americans have lived an artificially high standard of living for a long time," a man working one our jobs outsourced to India wrote me. "It's time you Americans drop to the poverty levels of the rest of the Third World." American jobs are offshored, insourced and outsourced at such blinding speed that millions of American citizens stand in unemployment lines every morning while the rest of us go to work, that is, if we still have jobs. America's middle class is being dismantled by jobs exported to cheap-labor Third World countries. CEOs and corporations that enjoy the luxuries of America's hard won freedom care not a tinker's dam whether you have a job or not-or a living wage. But the American man and woman on the street--the ones with two kids, a mortgage and bills coming out of their ears--stand powerless as their jobs vanish. Worse, our Congress upped the H-1B visas by another 20,000 again this year. That quota rise spits in the face of thousands of American IT workers standing in unemployment lines. Our Congress gave out nearly one million H-1B visas in the past decade. Congress facilitates outsourcing, insourcing and offshoring! Why complain? You just re-elected most of them back into Congress. Cannon, Kennedy, McCain, Udall, Degette, Pelosi, Allard, Dillon, Kyle, Kolbe, Flake and the list continues. Paul Hamilton write his story, "You have to work in the Silicone Valley for a while to really understand what it is like to be a white male in the IT business now days. I've worked for the Chinese, Iranians and Indians. I could tell you some horror stories ...HORROR stories! My career went to China, India and the WWW a long time ago though. "Today, I am a plumber. I started a new career and things are that tough here in California. I was lucky enough to get on with Marina Plumbing which is a huge Corporation that does the plumbing on new construction...think BIG housing subdivisions. "I look around on the job site and I am the only white male in a sea of Mexicans. Few of these Mexicans speak English. There are usually several boom boxes blaring Maruichi music all day long. The Mexicans OWN ALL THE TRADES! The concrete workers, the framers, the heavy equipment operators, the roofers and even the truck drivers delivering building materials--ALL are Mexicans. "President Bush is 100 percent off the mark, or he is crazy... or?" "I was the leading channel rep in the Silicone Valley for high end CISCO switches. For a year and a half I have been in IBM's Presidents club before. I wonder what the Germans thought circa 37, 38, 39 when the SS was taking over and doing the dirty work for Hitler? Were the Germans just sitting around wondering what was going on? Were they just sitting there in disbelief? I hear our esteemed President talking about Mexican Amnesty and think about how they have already brought misery to an already dead-broke state and wonder what the hell?" But there is another ominous skullduggery afoot across this country. It's the importation of illegal aliens by major US companies who thwart Federal Laws in order to 'lose' American workers and then, wholesale, break OSHA standards at will. How? Because illegal aliens will not make a whimper for fear of losing their jobs. The displacement of American workers proceeds methodically. American corporations sacrifice American workers in the name of profit. Over 200,000 illegal aliens swarm the Colorado job market. They displace Denver pavers, roofers, landscapers, beef processing plants, framers, dry wallers and virtually have taken over all fast food restaurants. This story repeats millions of times. A recent television news broadcast by one of the big three showed a man who had just made the 'Wall of Unemployment Shame' in his workplace, which included 1,000 fellow employees who had been laid off. Formerly making $22.00 an hour, he's now driving a delivery truck for $11.00 an hour. His wife and children struggle with their new financial reality. Currently, 15 million illegal aliens commandeer jobs away from American citizens. If they don't steal those jobs, they depress the wages to the point of legalized slavery. We have an estimated one million illegal alien Chinese in this country (Source: March 2005 Forbes Magazine). At the same time, we outsource jobs to China where a billion people can't wait to make 50 cents an hour. Human smugglers bringing illegals into America make $7 billion annually according to the report. Do they work the jobs Americans won't do? False! If American doctors were paid $5.00 an hour they wouldn't be working those hospital jobs either. You have to ask yourself if you want illegal immigrant doctors working at minimum wage to perform a by-pass heart surgery on you? Would you like an illegal immigrant lawyer defending you in court for $5.00 an hour? How about a $5.00 an hour illegal immigrant college professor teaching your kids calculus? How about an illegal alien truck driver driving down the road at 70 MPH with 80,000 pounds of steel, no ability to read English and a fifth grade education-from Mexico's educational system? Meanwhile, profits soar for corporations while the middle class of America plummets into worsening unemployment. Will America drop into Third World conditions as economist Paul Roberts predicts? At the current rate of 4.1 million legal and illegal newcomers imported into the United States annually, it's only a matter of time before, we too, manifest conditions of the Third World. You can't drown the labor market with millions of people and expect to keep your wages high when immigrants will undercut you. That's why the pay in China or India is less than $10.00 per day. They have 2.4 billion people in those two countries. That's why they live subsistence lives. In time, that reality will manifest itself in America as the middle class vanishes. It's already happening. You need look no further than California as an example of the first Third World State of America. Call your representative at 1-877-762-8762 and ask if he or she is on the Tom Tancredo Immigration Reform Caucus in the US House of Representatives? If your rep isn't--demand that he join because you are sick and tired of Americans jobs being given away to illegal aliens. You're sick of H-1B and L-1 visas as well as offshoring, insourcing and outsourcing. Make that call today! http://www.rense.com/general60/illegalimmigrationsdestruct.htm So should we give up our middle class so that Illegal immigrants can come here and take the jobs "Americans won't do"? we shouldn't thank bush, we should impeach bush for not protecting a whole class of people in the united states! in order for a mother to get welfare, there must not be a man living in the home. Ms. magazine was bankrolled by the CIA. The rockefellers bankrolled feminism in the united states, which caused the problem that Frosty points out. It makes you wonder if there is a hidden agenda or something on the part of the government...possible to crash the dollar, make everybody here poor, redistribute the wealth to third world nations, and eventually make a one world government? did you people read the details? it explained about outsourcing. This is not about war. i am anti-war, and i hate bush. Its not racist. its about saving our country as we know it and not allowing corporate interests to control our immigration policies. this is supposed to be a government Of the people, BY the people, FOR the people!!!! But what do we get??? a government OF the corporations, BY the corporations, FOR the corporations!!!!!!! so F*CK the illegal immigrants, IT'S EITHER US OR THEM!! only one sentence was written by an economist, and it is in quotes, cookie. and this is not some crazy theory, its already happening. hillary can't and won't save us, rudy can't and won't save us, mccain can't and won't save us, obama can't and won't save us. They keep telling us that deportation is out of the question, or that it is impractical. That is totally untrue. A guest worker program is not needed. Businesses should be paying legal workers a descent wage. If that means less profit, then that is just how it's got to be. The economic growth that has come over the past few decades to those businesses that hire illegals is due to cheap labor. They shouldn't have broken the law, and they shouldn't have lowered wages for the rest of us by making us compete with illegal aliens.

does this sound good? The Changes of Dracula Dracula has been an icon in motion pictures for many years. People are fascinated by a myth, or a character of the imagination. The three movies that we watched were all interesting in their own way, and all of them proved to have something different to offer to the characterization of Dracula. The first movie, starring Bela lugosi, didn't elaborate too much on the actual legend of Dracula, or vlad the impaler, as he was known originally. There were no special effects, and they couldn't show him coming out of the coffin or biting anybody's neck because of the Hayes Commission. It was a black and white film with little to no music, and not scary, but at that time it was very scary and cutting edge to people. The second movie, Bram Stoker's Dracula, starring Gary Oldman, Winona Ryder, and Anthony Hopkins a bit better. In this movie there were more special effects and music, though Dracula wasn't really portrayed as the nasty man he is supposed to be. Dracula can now be seen rising from his coffin and biting necks. The third movie, Van Helsing starring Hugh Jackman, Anna Valerious, and Richard Roxburg, was the most advanced and thrilling. There were many special effects and Dracula is just like he is supposed to be, mean and nasty. In this movie, there were a lot of other halloween legends, such as frakenstein and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Van Helsing was all computer and mainly made for entertianment, not to stay totally true to the story of Dracula. Overall, Dracula has remained a fascinating character in american horror stories, and will continue to fascinate the minds of Dracula fans for years to come.

How many people enjoy these poetic pieces? Note:Please read whichever you like, so please don't complain about the lentgh! It's optional! Filled with up-growing improvements!Imagine! Even if it is a crime to imagine so!even if you'd lay down your life on this!Imagine a world where prison does not exist in reality, where all wars of the world are included in ‘The Ceasefire Treaty'!!a world where nobody is ‘The Boss' of the world!people are all equal! Then each person will have an equal share in each single seed of wheat! No border, no boundaries – motherland would mean the entire world!imagine you could be the interpretation of this dream! Forth:(Booseye Baad)(club mix) The kiss of the autumnal wind whispers to the lonely leaf unmercifully that you'll be the victim of the autumn The new green leaf loses its green color, it drowns in the kisses of the wind and the horror of the new days It (the leaf) abandons the tree and wanders around in the alley (becomes homeless), an alley that is the reminder of the gone and futile days It (the leaf) sits down in the corner of the alley, stares up at the sky, thinks of the past, and feels pity for it (with sadness) (It thinks of) the days that the alley was under my body's shade, and the kind lover tree, loved the smell of my breath so much My share of the wind's kiss, what can I say oh my gosh, was all getting yellow-colored and faded, and dying and being forgotten Fifth:(Panjareh) When at sunset, the rain hits the (window) glass All the sadness in the world is in my chest In the rain drops, my choked voice breaks (intrupts) I don't want anything but a window anymore I sit down behind this window and sing I wait for your arrival under the rain Under the rain, waiting for you is very different Sounds like I love you more when it rains Sometimes when you come, you put your head on my shoulder You take all the sadness away from my heart But this is only a dream, a dream behind the window (glass) When I'm awake, sadness sits down in my throat again (I become sad again) Sixth: Defrost my frozen tears, open up your heart Hear the voice of my heart, what have I done to your heart? The rest of them are as beautiful as these, but I haven't translated them yet.

first person horror movies? I had an idea to create a really suspenseful movie. Have you ever been in a situation where something is not quite right, or you're not entirely sure whats around the next corner, and you don't want to poke your head around that corner and confirm your fears? Well, imagine this translated into movie form. My idea was a camera emulating the human eyesight span could be placed like a mask on an actors head and they could tilt their head slightly back to simulate their normal visual height in addition to head-bopping. No music would be used, merely natural sounds. As the story moves from character to character, the camera would temporarily move to third person then fly into the new character's eyes, then the first person perspective would continue from there. Good idea? Bad idea? What do you think?

iPod/iTues question? So, my ex and I broke up, and the comp I used to deal with my iPod was his, and therefore, I no longer have access to it. I've dealt with the SAME CRAP on my iPod for like 6 months now, and its making me crazy. If I install iTunes on my new comp, I know I have to start over, but how hard is it going to be to put the music I have on my comp in iTunes and get it on my iPod? Also, I'm not sure if I can find the box my iPod came in, will I need any of that info to reinstall it and make it work? I hear all these horror stories about people doing something and their iPod dying, and I would be sad. Help?? I'm not very computer savvy, so use easy to understand terms if at all possible. THANKS!! Haha, dont apologize for the breakup. It was needed and long overdue. But THANK YOU for the wonderfully helpful advice!!
Which brand of Tenor Sax should I buy? Go vintage? I'm a sophomore in college and have been missing playing my tenor sax. I always rented in high school and am now looking to buy one. I had got decently proficient at playing so I don't want to start up with a beginner sax. As I'm in college, I'm quite broke; thus, I was thinking about buying one of the new, cheap foreign made saxes off ebay, but have heard horror stories. I have seen and heard of people buying older, vintage saxes (example: conn). Also the alternative exists of buying a used newer tenor sax (example: yamaha) So my question is, what type of sax should i buy and which is the best for it's money? Also on any of the above routes of buying a tenor, which brand would you recommend and briefly why? Also where would you recommend I shop (ebay, music store, pawn shop, etc) Thank you much for answering; I really need your help! Jeremiah
Are violent teens and young adults visual learners? It seems that when any young person commits one of these heinous acts of violence, there is always a discussion about violent movies, television, music, and video games and their influence on the individuals. To me, this is ludicrous, but for the sake of this question, I'll assume this point is valid. So the question is, why are what books the person read never included in the discussion? Having read and enjoyed many horror stories in my young life, it seems to me that great writing can conjure up mental images far more graphic and gruesome than even the goriest fake bloodshed from a film or video game. In fact, most readers will probably agree that when you read a particularly engaging book, the events occurring within often seem far more real than those found in visual media. But the answer is still never, "Stephen King made them do it." Perhaps the people who commit these crimes generally have no creativity or imagination to speak of, and therefore don't make good readers?
Not really sure what to do? Alright, Im going to give a little overview of the story...then state my problem. Well lately Ive been talking to this one guy a lot. And he is really awesome and we are A LOT like each other. We have the same interests as in.. all music, horror movies, poetry, writing, fashion, film and photography. Its extremely fun to talk to him as we have so many of the same interests. Now, here is the problem. I may like him. I find myself thinking about him a lot of the time and wanting to talk to him more everyday. But he lives forever away from where I live. At times.. he acts like he may like me. But then he tells stories about this other person and it just really confuses me. What should I do?
Good outdoor photography locations in London? Hi all, Im photographing a band on Tuesday (they have no budget so have asked for location pictures to avoid the cost of studio hire) I have one or two locations in London - but would like a few more... Any suggestions? They are a rock band (incubus type music) Not my thing really - but their music is pretty good. So appropriate locations for that would be great (no flower gardens etc) Also - Fo rhtose togs who work around the City - how much of a problem are the police in terms of taking pictures etc? Iv'e heard one or two horror stories of cameras being confiscated... any advice would be great!! I've taken pictures outdoors - landscapes/models on rooftops etc - but never in a crowded urban area - what problems shoudl i expect??
Nannies or Creche (all opinions welcome)? The time has come for me to go back to work after maternity leave. My little boy was born prematurely at 24 weeks gestation and spent the first five months in hospital the last seven months he has spent with me as his sole carer. I take him to a kiddie music class once a week and visit his grandparents often. We are now torn as to what type of childcare we should go for, a creche which is near my work or a nanny who will look after him at his own home. My little boy's only problem with being born prematurely is having a bad chest and as I don't drive, I don't relish dragging him onto a bus at 7am but my husband fears that he may be isolated with a nanny rather than a creche, he is also worried about the horror stories you read about. I'd love some thoughts and opinions from everyone. Thanks in advance for your help Margaret tartanbeastie - How long do you suggest I stay at home with him, till he goes to school, or perhaps he should be home schooled just to ensure that he knows I wanted him? It's hard enough for working mother's nowadays without people making them feel bad about providing for their children. I suppose you think I should stay at home and live off benefits, or do you have problems with that too, what I suppose is the best answer is that I should have been born to wealthy parents so that I could have a baby? I choose to work to provide my baby with a good home, good food and a comfortable lifestyle. Perhaps I should just ask my poor husband to take on a second job and stay at home or is he supposed to stay at home too? Excocet - I hadn't even thought of asking the dr's opinion, I think that may be a big help as I might be overworrying about his chest problems. Thanks for the advice Thanks to all for your informative and thoughtful answers. Tartanbeastie : I kied your answer much better when you explained your rationale, the first answer just looked like an insult. Unfortunately I cannot afford not to work part time at the very least. we had planned on saving up so that I could have at least 2 years with my little boy and we did so before and while I was pregnant. Unfortunately my little boy came early and due to their being no special care beds near us, we were moved miles away and our savings were then used up over the next five months going to see him in hospital. We did plan ahead but sometimes the best laid plans..... etc I would much rather stay at home, but please try and remember not everyone has a choice. Thanks for taking the time to answer everyone.
Windows Vista 32 Bit or 64 Bit? I am building a new computer and I am breaking down and buying Vista even though I heard so many horror stories. My question is which version of Vista do I get.. Ultimate 32 or 64? From what I am seeing is the 64 version is having driver problems but what about applications? I will be using this computer to play games (Wow, Crysis, etc), Photoshop and for Music/Video. Which version is best for me? What are the Pros and Cons of 64bit? 32 bit? I do run ubuntu on a machine at work and I do like it. This is a personal computer and I plan on using it a lot for gaming so the ability to use DirectX10 is the seller for me. Xp isn't really what I was asking for in this question. Plus I have 4Gigs of Dominator RAM that I want to get the most out of. With XP the most that the architecture can handle is 3.5Gigs. Don't get me wrong I love XP but It doesn't support expanding technologies.
